MV Fraoch
pronounced Froo-ach

Fraoch is a powerful stable workboat, equipped to MCA standards.
Propulsion is by a 335hp engine driving a single propeller in a steerable nozzle. Cruising speed is a comfortable 7.5knots. From her dual bases at Ardyne and the Holy Loch, Fraoch can reach most areas within 2 hours.
Safety systems include all necessary firefighting, communications, signalling and personal survival equipment.
The forward wheelhouse maximizes usable deck space. A fixed pipe section forms a large roller over the stern for recovering or deploying items to or from the seabed.
On deck, the 3.6 tonne crane in the port quarter and the 1.5 tonne twin barrel winch offer practical flexibility for handling and moving heavier items.
Navigation equipment includes Radar, chart plotter, back up GPS and echo sounder.
Ample hold space provides dry storage for tools and the wide variety of equipment and spares needed to complete the planned (and sometimes unplanned) tasks.
Electrical requirements are met by the 3.5kva generator supplying 110 and 240 volts ac. Ships systems run on 24v dc.
